The Porsche branches in Dubai, Egypt, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Reunion, Tunisia, Bahrain, Mauritius, Abu Dhabi and Kuwait have opted for the SafetyBATTbox XL 2. Deliveries of the transport box will take place in the next 2 months.
With this box, the Taycan and the Macan HV battery in defective and critical condition can be transported safely and UN-compliant in the desert states by road, by ship or by train. The concept of the transport box is based on a system that works without loose bulk material. Even a possible thermal runaway of the high-voltage storage unit remains under control in the box. The box can also be used as a quarantine and emergency box.
The Porsche branches can thus fall back on a flexible fire protection solution.
