Lithium batteries and the rechargeable lithium-ion batteries can be found everywhere today: in the e-mobility sector and in many electronic devices as well as in stationary energy storage systems, for example in the power supply. They offer enormous advantages, but also harbour major fire risks.
The presentation by Michael Knobloch, Head of Marketing Sales LogBATT, dealt with the topic: Safe storage of damaged to critical HV batteries in operation Dangers due to gas development, findings from research. First, the terms were defined and presented to the knowledgeable audience. Then the results on the further development of gas management systems for quarantine boxes from the cooperation with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology were explained. At the end of the presentation, the advantages of front and top loading of batteries in internal and external logistics were discussed. The approx. 220 expert visitors were visibly enthusiastic about the 60-minute lecture and were able to absorb new knowledge for practical fire protection within the framework of the recognised VDS advanced training.
